Junya Watanabe, Spring 2009
The jacket, the navy blue.
I fell in love with this collection and viewed it many, many times. This guy's a genius.

Cynthia Rowley
(just the dress, with bare feet)
She shares my obsession with surfing,
although she actually does it.
Whenever I read interviews with her,
I love the answers. She travels places I've forever
wanted to visit, and in most pictures she
is either smiling or laughing. I can't help but
notice that she seems to really enjoy her life.
It's no wonder I fell for everything in and about
What I can't figure out is why it's taken
me so long to pay attention?
The highlights...

Then & Now
To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting.

Endless White
When I heard endless white by Flying Lotus I thought instantly of Agnes Martin. And the way I feel about her. End l e s s white. When I sew embroideries I reference her paintings. "Reinterpreting."
I think you can see how and why my old obsession with tape would lead me to love her work. I appreciate that it is so organized, painstaking, and if you want it to be, referential.
Agnes Martin was a loner. Sometimes I'm afraid to admit that I'm a bit of a loner myself, but then I realize what a good time I'm having and say 'f**k it'.
"My paintings are not about what is seen. They are about what is
known forever in the mind."
Agnes Martin .
